Men’s Basketball Poised for PSAC Quarterfinal Against Shippensburg

The Lock Haven men’s basketball team advanced past Millersville on Monday night, and now have their eyes on the trophy.

Coming off a historic season in which the Lock Haven University men’s basketball team gathered its most wins since 2013-14 and its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) playoff win in 33 years, the Bald Eagles are set for a quarterfinal showdown against the East’s No. 1 seed Shippensburg.

Set for Wednesday (March 1), the No. 5 seed Bald Eagles and the top-seeded Raiders meet at 7:30 p.m. in Shippensburg’s Heiges Field House. Live coverage options, HERE:

Historic Win:

On Monday (Feb. 27), Lock Haven soared past No. 4 seed Millersville 66-57. For LHU, it was the program’s first playoff win since 1990 when the Bald Eagles defeated Edinboro 84-75.

Eli Washington led a trio of Bald Eagles in double figures with 15 points, James Price secured his ninth double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds, and Jayy Davis rounded out the scoring with 10 of his own.

2022-23 Memory Lane

 

Mike Nestor All-Time Wins Record

After The Haven’s December 2 win over Seton Hill, head coach Mike Nestor became the Bald Eagles all-time leader in wins with 106.

To date, Nestor has continued to pile up the wins and now sits at 118.

Montague’s 1,000 Points

On January 21, Dymir Montague became the 22nd member of the Lock Haven University men’s basketball program to join the exclusive 1,000-point club.

Montague currently sits 18th in LHU history with 1,119 career points.

Wins

The Bald Eagles 17 wins are the most since 2013-14 and it also marks their first winning season since the 2013-14 campaign.

Regional Ranking

On December 5, the Bald Eagles surged in the No. 9 spot in the D2SIDA Atlantic Regional Rankings for the first time since the 1989-90 season.
