Freshman Alex Monroe (Lewistown, Pa. , Indian Valley) of the men’s outdoor track & field has been named the GoLHU.com Male Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic.

Monroe ran the nation's sixth fastest 10K on Friday night at Bucknell.

He used a 63 second last lap to top the very deep and talented field with a LHU school record time of 29:42.

Monroe won by two seconds as he hit an NCAA provisional time.

Friday's 10K was the first of Monroe's young career.

For his efforts, the freshman has been named PSAC Male Track Athlete of the Week. This is the second straight week that a Bald Eagle has received the honor. Senior Nick Hilton clinched the award last week.
