The Athletic Training Staff at Commonwealth University–Lock Haven is a team of health professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional healthcare to the university's student-athletes. The department emphasizes the prevention, evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and education related to sports injuries and medical conditions.
Under the direction of supervising team physician, Dr. Ronald Campbell and Head Athletic Trainer Rachel Thomas, the team provides comprehensive medical services to 21 varsity athletic teams (two Division I programs) encompassing approximately 500 student-athletes. The staff includes four licensed athletic trainers.
The department operates multiple athletic training facilities strategically located across campus, including the Thomas Fieldhouse and Himes Rehabilitation Center. These facilities are equipped to offer on-site injury assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services.
