Fred Garcia, of the Lock Haven Wrestling team, is this week’s www.golhu.com Male Athlete of the Week.

Garcia has had an impressive season thus far, winning five of his las six matches.

Against Rider, Garcia nationally edged No. 19 Clint Morrison, 9-8 in a thriller at 184 pounds.Garcia took down PSU's Wesley Phipps, 3-1 after a tough battle to seal a victory on Sunday, Nov. 24.

Garcia took second overall at the Mat Town Open yesterday (Sunday, Dec. 1) at 184.  He finished 3-1 on the day, dropping the championship-bout to No. 1 Ed Ruth.

Garcia, one of Lock Haven’s national qualifiers from a year ago remains nationally ranked.  He is ranked 15th by the AWN and No. 19 by InterMat.

Lock Haven returns to action next Saturday, Dec. 7 at the 2013 PSAC Championship, hosted by Edinboro University.
