Wali Hepburn, of Lock Haven University Men's Basketball team, is this week's www.GoLHU.com Male Athlete of the Week.
Wali has led the Haven to a 13-6 overall record, the most wins for the program since the 1994-95 season.
Hepburn's dominance continued last week as his game-high 18 points at Cheyney on Saturday helped him take over the scoring lead in the PSAC with 21.8 points per game. Hepburn helped LHU get wins over Millersville and Kutztown, pushing LHU to 12-6 overall and 5-3 in the PSAC East. The 12 wins are the most for LHU since 2006-07 and its marks Lock Haven's first four-game win streak since 2000-01. LHU sits in a tie for third with preseason East favorite West Chester.Â
Last week, Hepburn averaged 20 points last week in the two games, scoring 22 and 18, respectively in the wins over Millersville and Cheyney. Both were game-highs. Hepburn also averaged 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 rebounds. In the win over Millersville, he combined his 22 points with eight rebounds and six assists. In the win over Cheyney, Hepburn was 6-for-11 from the floor and perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw stripe on the way to his 18 points.Â
