Dylan Mountain, of the Lock Haven track and field team, is this week's www.GoLHU.com Male Athlete of the Week.

Mountain was named the PSAC athlete of the week this past week and for good reason.

In his last chance to qualify for the PSAC Championship in the 5,000 meter run, Mountain did just that, and did it dominating fashion.

The sophomore finished second in the 5K at Cornell with an NCAA provisional mark of 14:49.56.

It was the fastest PSAC men's 5K mark of the weekend and ranks 31st in Division II on the season. It is also an LHU all-time top-10 performance.

Mountain sits behind only teammate Alex Monroe (14:17.86) on the PSAC performance list in the event and is listed three seconds faster than the third-ranked athlete (Shippensburg's Nicolas Libbi).

Mountain is the ninth different LHU runner to hit a PSAC qualifying mark in the 5K this season. Last year, Mountain was sixth in the indoor 3K at the PSAC Championship and seventh outdoor in the 5K.
