Wali Hepburn, of the Lock Haven University men’s basketball team, is this week's www.GoLHU.com Male Athlete of the Week.
The junior was named the PSAC East Player of the Year and landed a First Team PSAC selection.
After 27 games played, Hepburn's 21.9 points per game are the most in the conference heading into this weekend's PSAC Final Four. It's the 12th best scoring mark in all of NCAA Division II men's basketball.
Hepburn also averaged 5.7 rebounds a game and 4.3 assists per game. His 4.3 assists per game ranked third in the PSAC and he was sixth in minutes played per game at 34.4.
Hepburn topped 30 points in a game three times, including 35 in a road-win at Seton Hill in early January. He also had 10 rebounds in the game. In 27 starts, Hepburn scored in double digits in all, but one game this year.
Hepburn was the driving force that powered the Bald Eagles to the most successful season in over two decades.
LHU's 17 wins were the most in nearly 25 years and it marked Lock Haven's first winning-season since 1993.
