Rachel Mouillesseaux, of the Lock Haven University Softball team, is this week's www.GoLHU.com Female Athlete of the Week.
The freshman had another big week for Lock Haven in the circle. LHU went 4-2 overall with Mouillesseaux making an appearance in every game.
She was 3-1 and earned a save as Lock Haven continues its late season-run toward a PSAC playoff berth. Over 25 2/3 innings, Mouillesseuax struck out 16 and held the opposition to a .196 batting average. Her ERA was 1.64.
She opened the week with a seven-strikeout, complete-game shutout over East Stroudsburg. She picked up a win in relief to complete the sweep of ESU. Over the final 2 1/3 innings, she didn't allow a hit. Mouillesseuax added a save in game two vs. Bloomsburg, going 2 2/3 innings without allowing a run on three hits.
Mouillesseaux capped the week with a 2 1/3 inning winning-relief effort vs. Kutztown in game two of the key PSAC East doubleheader. She didn't allow a hit and struck out two Golden Bears.
The Lady Eagles return to action Friday, April 25 against the visiting Mountaineers of Mansfield (2:30 p.m.).
