Andrew Simonik (Scott Township, Pa., Lakeland) of the Lock Haven University baseball team earned his second conference weekly honor and is recognized as GoLHU.com’s Male Athlete of the Week

Simonik made the last start of his Bald Eagle career a special one as he hurled a complete-game, five-hit shutout.

His eight strikeouts helped LHU take down Clarion 2-0. Simonik did not allow any walks and only allowed two runners to get past first base.

It marked his second complete-game of the year and helped him finish his senior season at 5-3.

On the year, Simonik dazzled on the pitcher’s mound as he recorded the team’s best ERA (2.60).

Simonik now ranks No. 7 in the LHU career records book for games started with 31.
