Lock Haven Athletics

Junior Gao Xuan (Dong Ying, China/Zibo No. 10 Middle School) of the Lock Haven University volleyball team has been named www.GoLHU.com Women’s Athlete of the Week.
 
Yesterday she was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Volleyball Player of the Week for her recent efforts on the court.
 
Xuan kept the Lady Eagles rolling this past weekend as they dominated a pair of PSAC East opponents.
 
In a pair of straight set road wins at Kutztown and West Chester, Xuan knocked down 33 kills (5.50/set & 16.5/match).
 
The two wins extend Lock Haven’s win streak to five matches as the Lady Eagles improve to 8-6 overall, 5-2 in conference action and a perfect 4-0 against PSAC East opponents.
 
Xuan had 17 kills and hit .361 vs. Kuztown. She followed that by hitting a sizzling .500 with 16 kills against West Chester.
 
Over the two-game span, she had three aces, 17 digs and two blocks.
