Troy Amspacher (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) has opened the 2016 season on a torrid scoring streak and those goals certainly carried the Bald Eagles last week.
In a 3-2 (OT) victory over Roberts Wesleyan last Wednesday, Amspacher was the story as he netted all three goals for LHU. Trailing 1-0, his first strike of the game tied the match in the 50^th minute. Amspacher’s heroics didn’t end there and again he was on the spot and tied the match with just 10 minutes to play, and just one minute into overtime he capped the hat trick with a sensational goal to give Lock Haven a win in its home-opener.
On Saturday night, it was Amspacher’s goal that helped LHU earned a hard-fought 1-1 (2OT) draw on the road. The Bald Eagles trailed a talented Alderson Broaddus squad, but Amspacher calmly converted from the penalty spot in the 59^th minute to draw Lock Haven even and help them head home with a huge NCAA Division II point vs. a strong opponent.
