Thomas Haines of the LHU wrestling team has been named this week’s Susquehanna Trailways/GoLHU.com Men’s Athlete of the Week.

Haines went 2-0 at Sunday’s (Nov. 20) Cavalier duals and his win at 285 sealed a come-from-behind victory for LHU over Maryland, a Big Ten opponent.

With Lock Haven trailing 18-17 heading into the final bout of the match at 285, Haines stepped up and put things away with a dominating 8-1 victory over Maryland’s Youssif Hemida. Haines’ win gave the Bald Eagles a thrilling 20-18 victory over the Terps.

Haines followed it up with a huge victory vs. Virginia. Facing a talented Tyler Love, Haines put on a clinic and picked up a 15-1 major decision.
