Lydia Werner of the LHU women’s track & field team has been named this week’s Susquehanna Trailways/GoLHU.com Female’s Athlete of the Week.

Freshman Lydia Werner was phenomenal in her debut for The Haven at the Bison Opener hosted by Bucknell. On Friday she competed in the Pentathlon where she came away with the victory and a NCAA provisional mark which ranks her eighth in Division II.
   
Werner won the 800 (2:24.49), the 60-meter hurdles (9.41) and long jump (17-02.75). She was third in the high jump (5-01.00) and fourth in the shotput (25-02.50). She hit individual Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying marks in the 60-m hurdles, high jump, long jump and the 800-meter run in a truly sensational debut-outing.

Werner was back it on Saturday and cracked LHU's all-time top-10 with a solid mark in the triple jump. She hit a PSAC mark with a jump of 35-11.75, which was good enough for fifth overall.
