Tristan Sponseller of the LHU wrestling team has been named this week’s Susquehanna Trailways/GoLHU.com Men’s Athlete of the Week.

Since finishing as the PSAC runner-up on December 10, Sponseller has done nothing, but win. The redshirt-sophomore, who is in his first season at 197 pounds is riding a 10-match win streak and coming off individual titles at two major tournaments.

On Saturday (Jan. 7), Sponseller was 5-0 and claimed the title at the David H. Lehman Open, hosted by Franklin & Marshall. Sponseller’s title at F&M came just nine days after he was a perfect 4-0 on the way to the individual crown at the Lock Haven Classic, which helped power the Bald Eagles to team title in a strong 14-team field.
