Rileigh Devine of the LHU women’s basketball team has been named this week’s Susquehanna Trailways/GoLHU.com Female’s Athlete of the Week.
Devin who is a freshman picked the perfect time to play her best basketball of the season and it came Saturday at Millersville, as she netted a career-high 30 points to spark a Bald Eagle rally that resulted in the Lock Haven picking up a monumental PSAC East win at Millersville in double-OT.
The win keeps Lock Haven’s playoff hopes alive and could have major implications in the PSAC playoff race over the next two weeks. Devine, who only played six minutes in the first half and scored zero points, came alive in the second, and she kept coming until the game ended in double-OT.
Devine finished with 30 points. She was 10 of 14 from the field, 2 of 5 from 3-point range and 8 of 9 from the free-throw stripe. She also grabbed four rebounds.
Of note, it was Lock Haven’s highest individual point total since 2013 (33 points from Emily Daugherty vs. NYIT on 11/15/13). LHU’s school record for single-game points is 39 (1993).
