Lock Haven Athletics

Senior forward Martin Pletz (Pittsburgh, Carlynton) of the Lock Haven University men’s soccer team has been named the www.GoLHU.com Male Athlete of the Week.
 
On Monday, Pletz was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men’s Soccer Athlete of the Week for his performances last week.
 
Pletz led the team to a 2-1 record for the week.  After suffering a loss in their first game of the week to NYIT, the Bald Eagles knocked off two PSAC rivals beating No. 13 Millersville at home and Slippery Rock on the road.
 
Pletz was dominant in The Haven’s upset over No. 13 Millersville as he scored one goal on two shots. 
 
Against Slippery Rock, Pletz posted just one shot, but it proved to be a big one resulting in the game winning goal.  The goal also clinched the number one seed for the Bald Eagles in the PSAC tournament.
