Jimmy Werner of the LHU men’s track & field team has been named this week’s Susquehanna Trailways/GoLHU.com Men’s Athlete of the Week.

Werner competed at the Jim Taylor Invitational hosted at Susquehanna University where he was the individual champion in the hammer throw.

Werner’s throw of 180-05 was 2-06 feet ahead of his next competitor and nearly 7 feet ahead of third place.

He cracked the LHU top 5 with the impressive performance to open up the outdoor season. It also was well over the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying standard and was also a NCAA Provisional mark.
