Rashana Tompkins of the LHU women’s track and field team has been named this week’s Susquehanna Trailways/GoLHU.com Female Athlete of the Week.

Tompkins competed in the 60-meter hurdles this past weekend at the 20th annual Bison Open hosted by Bucknell University where she once again broke the school record.

Tompkins earned a spot in the finals, and then she tied for first and crossed the finish line in 9.04 seconds. This marks the second time this season that Tompkins has broken the Lock Haven 60-meter hurdles record.

She originally smashed it during the first meet of the year at the Bison Opener hosted by Bucknell when she clocked a time of 9.09. Coming into this season, the record was held by Brooke Rangi who set it in 2005 with a time of 9.17.

The weekly GoLHU.com Athletes of the Week are presented by Susquehanna Trailways, the official Motorcoach Company of LHU Athletics.  Visit http://www.susquehannabus.com/ for more!
