Laurel Moyer of the LHU women’s track and field team has been named this week’s Susquehanna Trailways/GoLHU.com Female Athlete of the Week.

Leading the way for The Haven this past weekend at the YSU National Mid-Major Invitational hosted by Youngstown State was freshman Laurel Moyer who continued her impressive campaign thus far. On day one of competition, she competed in the 1,000-meter run as she just missed the school record placing second overall with a time of 3:01.95. She closed her last 400-meters in 1:08 to distance herself from the pack.
 
She followed up that performance with the fourth fastest mile time in school history and the fastest time since 2011 on day two. She crossed the line in 5:11.60, which is well under the PSAC qualifying time and placed fifth overall.
