Lock Haven Athletics

On Fridat, the distance-medley relay team of Matthew Muthler (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts), Aydan Summers (Altoona, Pa./Altoona), Owen Mahon (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) and Kirk Stewart (South Park, Pa./South Park) set a blazing time of 10:24.47. The time is the fastest in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and the second fastest in all of Division II. Stewart received the baton in fourth place and quickly ran down the then-third-place Bloomsburg Huskies. Stewart split a 4:22 1600m leg to propel the Bald Eagles to a third place finish, defeating a field full of PSAC runners.

Stewart got Lock Haven started on the track again on Saturday with a winning performance in the mile. After following West Chester's Chase Knorr through 600 meters, Stewart took over and stormed his way to a 4:21.87. After flat track conversion, that time takes the No. 1 spot in the PSAC.

Stewart returned for his third event of the meet for a win in the 1,000 meters. He ran 2:39.08. Although, this is a non-PSAC event, it marked yet another outstanding race for the true-freshman.
