For the third week in a row, Riyana Owens is your GoLHU.com Athlete of the Week. She also repeats as the PSAC Track Athlete of the Week.
Riyana Owens duplicated her performance from last week in even more impressive fashion. For the second week in a row, Owens smashed two school records and improved on her NCAA DII provisional marks.
The phenom, launched off the line in the 60m dash at the prestigious Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invite to win the first heat in the Elite field. Her 7.65 beats her school record, that she set last week, and improves on her NCAA Division II Provisional time.
She then returned in the 200m dash and stormed to a 24.64 crushing the school record again. She is the first woman in Lock Haven history to break the 25-second barrier. Nationally speaking, she improved her rank in the event to 13th at the Division II level. Â At the meet she finished sixth overall and as the top non-division I collegian in the field.
