Lock Haven Athletics

Seth Creasy (Mercer, Pa./Mercer) of the Lock Haven University wrestling team has been named this week’s GoLhu.com male athlete of the week.
Creasy, the Bald Eagles 165-pound starter all year moved up to 174 for the Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) conference tournament and didn't disappoint from the start.  Creasy opened the tournament by upsetting fourth-seed Chris Hrunka (Edinboro). Creasy used a late second period escape and rode out the third period for the workmanlike 2-0 win.

In his second bout of the day, Creasy was pinned by top-seed Ethan Headlee of Pitt. Headlee ranked No. 19 earned the fall at the 1:18 mark. Creasy however bounced back in dominating fashion, taking down Cleveland State's Aric Thurn 13-3 for the major.

The top-three finishers at 174 move onto to the 2012 NCAA DI Championships by way of an automatic qualifier and Creasy left no doubt in his battle for third-place honors. He marched to his second win of the day over fourth-seed Hrunka. Creasy scored an early takedown and led 7-1 after two periods, before winning 8-4.
