Lock Haven Athletics

Nicole Smith (Milton, Pa./Milton) of the Lock Haven University softball team has been named this week’s GoLhu.com female athlete of the week.
Smith was the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central Division Player of the Week for her tremendous performance at last weekend's Catawba Invitational.

Her solid play led Lock Haven to a 3-2 start to the year.

Offensively, Smith was the Lady Eagles big bat. She hit .429 with three home runs, five RBIs and seven runs scored.

Her dominance didn't end there as she went 2-0 in the pitcher's circle. Over four appearances including two stats and two complete games, she struck out 13. Smith held the opposition to a .271 batting average.

Smith was the difference maker in an 8-4 win over Davis & Elkins. She pitched a complete game and struck out seven batters on her way to the win. She also went 2-for-2 at the plate with two homeruns, two RBIs and three runs scored.
