At Shippensburg on Wednesday, Shoats' record-breaking effort in the long jump highlighted a stellar day for the Bald Eagle. His mark of 24-05.5 in the long jump topped the field today, and broke a 46-year old Lock Haven men's outdoor track and field record. Shoats' effort bested Ben Omiegbe's mark of 24-05, set back in 1977. For Shoats, the mark of 24-05.5 hit a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship qualifying mark and it's the second-best mark - to date this season in the PSAC. It's also an NCAA Division II championship qualifying mark and ranks 14th in Division II, to date.
