Lock Haven Athletics

Senior Andrew Simonik (Scott Township, Pa., Lakeland) of the Lock Haven University baseball team paced the Bald Eagles in their win against Gannon and is recognized as GoLHU.com’s Male Athlete of the Week.

 

On Sunday, Simonik pitched in both games of the doubleheader against Gannon, receiving a save in the first game and getting the win in the second game.

 

In the first game Simonik got two quick easy outs in the top of the seventh to collect his first save of the season.  The senior then started on the mound in the second game pitching a solid five innings without giving up any runs. He had three strikeouts while only walking one batter.

 

The win gave Simonik a 4-2 record on the season and led the Bald Eagles to an impressive 15-12 overall record.
