McCollum field is home to LHU track & field throwing for both the men's and women's teams.
Bill R. McCollum was born in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania in 1916 and graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1934. The three-sport athlete – baseball, boxing and football - graduated from Lock Haven State Teachers College in 1938. McCollum went on to become a Captain in the U.S. Army, 79
th Infantry Division and was killed in action near the two of Cherbourg in Normandy in July 1944.
McCollum field is located next to Lawrence Field, the home of LHU softball.
