LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (10-5, 1-1 A-10) fell 2-1 today on the road at UMass (8-6, 2-0 A-10) 2-1 in Atlantic 10 (A-10) Conference action.
The loss snapped an eight-game win streak for LHU.
Lock Haven went up 1-0 in the 30th minute on a goal by
Tonia-Marie James (D'Abadie, Trinidad & Tobago/St. Augustine Girls High).
James's goal came off an assist from
Amy Hordendorf (Topton, Pa./Brandywine Heights), the Lady Eagles leading scorer.
The Haven led 1-0 at halftime, but UMass tacked on two second half goals to earn the win.
LHU goalie
Erin Terreson (Robesonia, Pa./Conrad Weiser) made four saves.
Lock Haven is back in action on Tuesday, October 19 when the Lady Eagles host St. Louis at 7 p.m. in conference action.
