LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (11-5, 2-1 A-10) scored two goals in each half and got goals from four different players as the Lady Eagles downed visiting Saint Louis University (0-16, 0-3 A-10) 4-1 tonight on Charlotte E. Smith Field.
With the win Lock Haven improves to 11-5 overall and 2-1 in Atlantic 10 (A-10) Conference action.
Saint Louis, winless on the year took the early 1-0 lead on a Nicole Kent goal 13:52 in.
Several minutes later, The Haven's attack came alive and
Teresa Lezama (D'Abadie, Trinidad & Tobago/St. Joseph's Convent) made it 1-1.
Abbey Hordendorf (Topton, Pa./Brandywine Heights) made it 2-1 in the 30th minute after she knocked home a rebound.
Lock Haven got second half goals from
Amy Hordendorf (Topton, Pa./Brandywine Heights) and Kristi Shepps (Willow Street, Pa./Penn Manor).
The Lady Eagles got a solid effort from their entire defensive unit and only allowed three shots.
Lock Haven is back in action on Friday, October 22 when its host La Salle University at 3 p.m. in conference action.
