BOX SCORE
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University football team (0-9, 0-6 PSAC West) was edged 30-22 at home tonight by visiting Edinboro University (6-3, 3-3 PSAC West).
A Haven touchdown and successful two-point conversion with 4:01 left in the game made it a one-possession game as LHU only trailed 30-22, but that's how things would end as the Bald Eagles couldn't get the ball back in the game's final moments.
Edinboro jumped out to a 14-0 lead, but a 31-yard touchdown run by
Jeremiah Dunchack (Northern Cambria, Pa./Northern Cambria) with 1:59 left in the opening half gave LHU a lot of life heading into the second half of play.
Jay Hartman (Lewistown, Pa./Indian Valley) caught a pair of second-half touchdown passes that helped keep LHU in the ballgame.
Hartman finished with five catches for 56 yards and two scores. He also caught the two-point conversion late in the second half of play.
Jesse Hoover (Curwensville, Pa./Curwensville) made eight catches for 80 yards.
Jarrett Kratzer (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley) was 18-for-33 passing for 183 yards and the two TD passes.
Defensively, Lock Haven got a tremendous effort from
Wes Plummer (Altoona, Pa./Altoona), who made a game-high 10 tackles including two for a loss. He also forced one fumble and had an interception.
Kenny Monroe (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) made eight tackles, including six solo stops.
Lock Haven heads to IUP next Saturday (November 6) for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
