LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (1-11, 0-1 PSAC West) opened up Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division play with a loss to visiting Mercyhurst College (10-3, 1-0 PSAC West) 85-48.
Armandi Marshall (Philadelphia/Olney) was the high scorer for The Haven, setting a career-high with nine points. He also grabbed four rebounds and recorded one block in an all-around solid effort.
Lock Haven had a solid night from the free-throw line and went 14-for-19.
Freshman
Anthony Baker (Bushkill, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) came off the bench and chipped in with eight points in 10 minutes of play.
Davide Gritti (Legnano, Italy/Central Dauphin) was solid as well off the bench. He added seven points and three rebounds.
Ten different Bald Eagles scored in the loss.
The Bald Eagles trailed 34-28 at halftime, but couldn't keep pace with the Lakers in the second half.
Mercyhurst was led by Heiden Ratner, who had a game-high 21 points.
The Bald Eagles return to the hardwood on Saturday, Jan. 15 at 3 p.m. when they travel to PSAC West foe Gannon.
