WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (8-6, 5-2 PSAC) blanked Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East rival West Chester University (13-7, 4-4 PSAC) 3-0 (25-22, 27-25 & 25-12) today on the road.
With the win Lock Haven improves to 8-6 overall and 5-2 in PSAC play. Lock Haven is also a perfect 4-0 against PSAC East opponents.
Gao Xuan (Dong Ying, China/Zibo No. 10 Middle School) was on fire today and hit .500 with 16 kills.
Hayley Gribler (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy-Liberty) added nine kills in a solid effort for LHU.
Erin Walsh (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) was solid for Lock Haven. She had a team-best 10 digs and three aces.
LHU head coach Tom Justice was very proud of his team's effort, particularly in the second set where LHU trailed 23-17, but the Lady Eagles responded.
Lock Haven returns to action on Friday, October 7 at Millersville University when the Lady Eagles take on Clarion and Slippery Rock in PSAC Crossover action.
