Lady Eagles take down Mansfield 67-61 for first win of season

Nesmith nets 22 points to lead three players in double figures scoring.

MANSFIELD, Pa. –
The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (1-1, 1-1 PSAC) took down host Mansfield University (0-2, 0-2 PSAC) 67-61 today in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action giving the Lady Eagles their first win of the 2011-12 season.

Lock Haven improves to 1-1 on the young season after dropping its season-opener yesterday at Bloomsburg University.

The Lady Eagles jumped on Mansfield early and led by 16 at halftime.

Peaches Nesmith (Philadelpia/Northeast) scored a team-high 22 points to lead three Lady Eagles, who scored in double figures. Nesmith was 8-for-12 from the field in the win.

Kacie Hershey (Cochranville, Pa./Octorara) and Heather McHugh (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) both scored 10.

The sharp-shooter McHugh hit a trio of three-pointers.

Sharay Hall (Philadelphia/Carver) was solid again today and added eight points to go along with a game-high nine rebounds.

Lock Haven returns to the court on Monday, November 28 in the Lady Eagles 2011-12 home-opener vs. Chestnut Hill (6 p.m.).
