Women's Basketball outlasts Cheyney 74-65

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –
The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (3-1, 2-1 PSAC) used a big second half to defeat Cheyney University (0-6, 0-3 PSAC) today 74-65 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover matchup.

LHU trailed 38-35 at the half, but mounted a big second half comeback to secure the win.

Peaches Nesmith (Philadelphia/Northeast) scored a game-high 24 points. She shot 9-for-12 from the field, 6-for-8 from the free throw line and added seven rebounds.

Heather McHugh (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) played all 40 minutes and tied her career high with 20 points as she went a career best 6-for-10 on three-pointers, five of which came in the first half.

Sharay Hall (Philadelphia/Carver) netted 13 points and dished a game-high and career best eight assists.

Mahogany Spence (Scranton, Pa./G.A.R.) continued her all-around strong play as she recorded five points, seven assists and a game-high eight rebounds.

Nadirah Brown led Cheyney with 23 points.

The Lady Eagles are back in action tomorrow (Sunday, December 4) when they travel to Shippensburg University for another PSAC crossover matchup. The game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
