Women's Basketball edged at home by UPJ

Three Lady Eagles reach double figures in scoring

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –
The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (4-5) fell at home to the University of Pitt-Johnstown (2-7) 73-65 today in a non-conference matchup.
 
Peaches Nesmith (Philadelphia/Northeast) led the way for LHU as she scored 16 points and pulled in a team-high eight rebounds.
 
Sharay Hall (Philadelphia/Carver) scored 14 points and dished out a game-high five assists.
 
Arlana Roland (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) netted 12 points and tied a career-high with seven rebounds.
 
Kelsey Ryan (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) and Samantha Lane (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock) scored eight and seven points respectively.
 
The Lady Eagles led by one at the break, but were unable to overcome a barrage of three pointers and good foul shooting from UPJ.
 
The Lady Cats made 11 three's and shot 89% from the free throw stripe.
 
UPJ had four players score in double figures, led by Kaitlynn Fratz who scored a game-high 20 points.
 
The Lady Eagles are back in action Friday, January 6, when they host East Stroudsburg for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover matchup.  Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
