Women's Basketball downs Shippensburg 66-54 on road

Nesmith's double-double leads LHU to big road win

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –
Peaches Nesmith (Philadelphia/Northeast) recorded a double-double as the Lock Haven University women's basketball team (4-1, 3-1 PSAC) came up with a huge win on the road today defeating Shippensburg University (4-3, 1-3 PSAC) 66-54 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover matchup.

Nesmith scored a game-high 23 points and added a team-high 11 rebounds to record her first double-double of the season.

Sharay Hall (Philadelphia/Carver) flirted with a double-double herself as she netted 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds. She also tallied three assists and four steals.

Heather McHugh (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) also scored in double figures for LHU, netting 10 points while shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line.

Mahogany Spence (Scranton, Pa./G.A.R.) had another strong game scoring seven points and adding six rebounds and four assists.

Kacie Hershey (Cochranville, Pa./Octorara) and Kelsey Ryan (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) both played well down low pulling down five rebounds a piece.

Monae Baker led Shippensburg with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

The Lady Eagles return to the court next weekend for a pair of games. On Friday, December 9, Lock Haven will host Millersville University at 5:30 p.m. before hosting West Chester on Saturday at 2 p.m.
