LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (10-10, 3-6 PSAC West) was downed by visiting Gannon University (11-11, 3-7 PSAC West) 72-55 today in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action.
Kacie Hershey (Cochranville, Pa./Octorara) had a huge game individually for LHU and recorded a double-double. She scored 12 points and pulled down a career-high 14 rebounds.
Peaches Nesmith (Philadelphia/Northeast) and
Sharay Hall (Philadelphia/Carver) both netted 14 points to try and spark The Haven's offense.
Nesmith was 6-for-14 from the field and 2-for-3 from downtown on the way to her 14.
Hall hit a pair of three's and was 2-for-2 from the free-throw line.
Gannon led 35-32 at halftime and an early Golden Knight run to start the second proved to be the difference as Gannon pulled away down the stretch.
Gannon had four players score in double figures, including Julie Kleber, who had a game-high 18.
The Lady Eagles are back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. when they host Clarion.
