BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University wrestling team dropped an Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) dual 25-12 tonight on the road at local-rival Bloomsburg University.

With the loss, the Bald Eagles slip to 5-12 overall and 1-4 in league action. The Huskies improve to 14-6 and 3-3 in EWL action.

Lock Haven won four bouts tonight.

LHU went down 6-0 early after a Huskie pin at 125, but the Bald Eagles responded with three straight wins.

John Trumbetti (Montvale, N.J./St. Joseph Regional), Matt Bonson (Lewistown, Pa./University of Virginia) and Owen Wilkinson (Hartland, Mich./Hartland) all won by to put LHU up 9-6.

The host-Huskies would however go on to control the match late and Lock Haven only managed one other win as Michael Khoury (Edgewater, N.J./Saint Joseph Regional) knocked off Mike Dessino, ranked No. 33 in the nation 3-1.

Bonson, who returned to the lineup after missing the last two duals, picked up his 21st win of the year as he improves to 21-2 on the season. He's 11-1 in dual action and improved to 4-1 in EWL duals.

Khoury picked up his 20th win of the year as the true-freshman continues to impress in his first season at The Haven.

The Bald Eagles close out the regular season Sunday, Feb. 20 at 3 p.m. when they host Clarion University.
