ERIE, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (9-9, 2-5 PSAC West) fell 68-59 on the road today at Mercyhurst College (13-10, 5-3 PSAC West) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division action.
Emily Daugherty (Laughlintown, Pa./Ligonier) did all she could to spark the Lady Eagles. She was 7-for-13 from the field on the way to her team-high 14 points. She also added nine rebounds.
Kristen Kudrick (Harrison City, Pa./Penn Trafford) added 12 points and the senior is just five points away from the prestigious 1,000-point plateau.
Sharay Hall (Philadelphia/Carver) chipped in with 10 points, three assists and two steals.
Kelsey Ryan (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) was solid for LHU with nine points and six boards.
Mercyhurst led 36-23 at halftime and the Lakers had three different players in double figures for the game. Amy Achesinski led the way with a game-high 23 points.
The Lady Eagles return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 9 at Slippery Rock. The game is set for 6 p.m.
A reminder that Wednesday's game with IUP that was postponed because of weather conditions has been moved to Monday, Feb. 21.
