CLEARWATER, Fla. – Senior
Tyler Golden (Tyrone, Pa./Tyrone) was dominate on the mound today and struck out nine to lead the Lock Haven University baseball team past Alderson-Broaddus 4-0.
With the win, the Bald Eagles, who are ranked No. 6 in the Atlantic Region, improve to 8-3 on the year.
Golden went seven innings and allowed only one walk.
Corey Hepfer (Springfield, Pa./Penn State Brandywine) and closer
Stephen Brush (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) both worked one inning. Hepfer had one strikeout in the eighth and Brush closed things out in the ninth with a three strikeouts.
The Bald Eagles offense backed up the dominant pitching as LHU scored its four runs on 12 hits.
Brian Kochik (Snow Shoe, Pa./Bald Eagle) led the way with a 4-for-4 outing. He drove in a pair and scored once himself.
Cody Young (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte) was 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs.
Matt McCamley (Philipsburg, Pa./Philipsburg-Osceola) went 2-for-3 and
Corey Fassett (Tunkhannock, Pa./Lackawanna College) was 2-for-4.
The Bald Eagles will play two with Lake Erie College tomorrow (Friday, March 11) in the Sunshine State. The doubleheader will start at 9:30 a.m.
