ORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 16 Lock Haven University softball team took to the field just before midnight last night, but the Lady Eagles were awake and ready, downing Belmont Abbey 11-0 in five innings.
Sarah Morse (Dover, N.H./Dover) was brilliant in the pitcher's circle and allowed just three hits over five innings.
Alicia Cacciotti (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) jump started the offense with a two-RBI double in the first.
Brittany Muthard (Northampton, Pa./Northampton) had two doubles.
LHU is 10-2 on the year.
The Lady Eagles return to action later this morning (Friday, March 11) at 11:30 a.m. when they take on The College of Saint Rose (N.Y). LHU will also play Saint Joseph College (Ind.) at 1:30 p.m.
