SALEM, Va. – The Lock Haven University softball team split a pair of games today on the Lady Eagles first day of play in their annual trip to Salem, Va.
Lock Haven rolled past Seton Hill 11-3 in six innings, but fell to Shepherd 3-1 in the nightcap.
LHU is now 12-4 on the season.
The Lady Eagles offense in the win over Seton Hill was led by
Alicia Cacciotti (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) and
Brittany Pataky (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield).
Cacciotti hit a three-run home run and Pataky was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Kelsey Mullins (Binghamton, N.Y./Susquehanna Valley) drove in a pair of runs in the win.
Nicole Smith (Milton, Pa./Milton) picked up the win in the pitcher's circle.
Despite the loss,
Sarah Morse (Dover, N.H./Dover) was sensational. She went the distance and only allowed one earned-run.
Mullins had Lock Haven's lone RBI in the loss.
The Lady Eagles face Wheeling Jesuit tomorrow (Saturday, March 19) at 3:00 p.m. in Salem.
