SALEM, Va. – The Lock Haven University softball team split a pair of games on its final day of play in Salem, Va.
LHU opened the day with a 4-1 loss to Glenville State, but the Lady Eagles bounced back with a 9-1 (5 innings) win over Davis & Elkins.
LHU is now 14-5 on the year.
Nicole Smith (Milton, Pa./Milton) recorded five strikeouts in the loss.
Brittany Pataky (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield) was 2-for-4 with a RBI.
Brittany Favazza (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) had one hit, a stolen base and scored Lock Haven's lone run.
Sarah Morse (Dover, N.H./Dover) picked up the win over Davis & Elkins.
Alicia Cacciotti (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) and Pataky both hit home runs for LHU.
Favazza was 2-for-3 with a stolen base and two RBIs.
The Lady Eagles will be back in action on Tuesday, March 22 at 2:30 when they host Clarion in their PSAC Central and home-opener.
