WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (13-8, 4-2 PSAC West) swept California (Pa.) University (11-10, 1-5 PSAC West) today in a PSAC West doubleheader.

The Bald Eagles won 5-1 and 4-3 to improve to 4-2 in league action.

Lock Haven took game one of the doubleheader 5-1 behind a complete-game effort by pitcher Drew Simonik (Scott Township, Pa./Lakeland). Simonik improved to 3-2 on the year with a pair of strikeouts over seven innings of work.

Simonik only gave up five hits and he allowed three walks on the way to the win.

The Bald Eagles scored all five runs in the top of the fifth thanks to a grand slam by Brian Kochik (Snow Shoe, Pa./Bald Eagle), who went yard, clearing the bases and making it 5-0.

Prior to Kochik's grand slam, a RBI-single by Cory Dorman (Mifflinburg, Pa./Alleghany College of Maryland) put The Haven up 1-0.

Dorman was 2-for-3 at the plate and Cody Young (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte) was 2-for-4.

Scott Zuback (Mill Hall, Pa./Central Mountain) had a tremendous game-one hitting performance and went 3-for-3 at the plate.

LHU won game two 4-3.

Jordan Yohn (Three Springs, Pa./Southern Huntingdon) struck out six on the way to the complete game win as the Bald Eagles got another stellar effort from their starting pitchers.

Dorman drove in two runs and Jordan Miller (Mill Hall, Pa./Central Mountain) went 2-for-3 at the plate.
