LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven University baseball team (13-10, 4-4 PSAC West) dropped two games today at home against California (Pa.) University (13-10, 3-5 PSAC West).
The Bald Eagles lost the first game 1-0 in pitcher's dual before dropping game two 8-5.
Tyler Golden (Tyrone, Pa./Tyron) pitched a solid game one for Lock Haven. He went a complete seven innings, while only giving up four hits.
Golden struck out seven batters, while walking only three. He gave up just the one run in the first inning and was untouchable for the rest of the game.
Senior
Matt McCamley (Philipsburg, Pa./Philipsburg-Osceola) went 1-for-2 for the Bald Eagles.
Jordan Miller (Mil Hall, Pa./Central Mountain), a local freshman also went 1-for-2.
Lock haven dropped the second game in an 8-5 hard fighting loss. The Bald Eagles had five runs on eight hits.
Leading the way at the plate in the second game was
Cory Dorman (Mifflinburg, Pa./Allegany College of Maryland). Dorman went 2-for-4 with a two-run homerun in the bottom of the fifth giving him two RBIs on the day.
Picking up where they left off in the first game was
Jordan Miller, who went 2-for-3.
Matt McCamley also got a pair of hits, going 2-for-4.
Getting the start on the mound for the Bald Eagles was
Brandon Renoll (Hanover, Pa./Hanover). Renoll went 4.1 innings, striking out two. Renoll gave up six runs on seven hits.
Tyler Rumsey (Mansfield, Pa./Mansfield) came in as relief for Lock Haven, throwing 2.2 innings. Rumsey gave up no earned runs while striking out one batter.
Lock Haven is back in action this weekend as they host a doubleheader Friday, April 1, against Gannon University. The first game starts at 1 p.m.
