CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Lock Haven University baseball (6-3) team lost a pair of games on the second day of play in Florida.
Lock Haven fell to Cedarville 9-8 and Upper Iowa 9-2 on day two of competition at the Winning Inning DII Invitational in Clearwater, Fla.
In game one vs. Cedarville, Lock Haven scored its eight runs off 16 hits, while Cedarville scored its nine runs on 15 hits.
Pitcher
Tyler Rumsey (Mansfield, Pa./Mansfield) got the start and was solid on the mound for The Haven. He went 5.2 inning with four strikeouts in the no-decision outing.
Cody Young (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte) was 3-for-5 at the plate with a pair of doubles and
Matt McCamley (Philipsburg, Pa./Philipsburg-Osceola) hit a home run.
In game two, Lock Haven scored its two runs on eight hits.
Upper Iowa was solid all over and scored nine runs on 12 hits and the offense was backed up by pitcher Fabian Lopez, who struck out 12.
Lock Haven is back in action tomorrow (Tuesday, March 8) at 10:30 a.m. when they take on Alderson-Broaddus in one nine-inning game.
