#17 Lady Eagles shine again with two wins; improve to 9-2 on the year

ORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 17 Lock Haven University softball team picked up two wins today downing American International College 2-1 and Post University 5-3.

With the two wins LHU improves to 9-2 on the season.

Sarah Morse (Dover, N.H./Dover) threw a complete-game on the way to the win. Morse is 4-1 in the circle on the season.

Nicole Smith (Milton, Pa./Milton) and Kelsey Mullins (Binghamton, Pa./Susquehanna Valley) led the Lady Eagles offensively.

Smith went 1-for-2 at the plate with a RBI.

Mullins went 1-for-3 with a RBI.

Smith pitched a complete-game in game two, versus Post University.

The game was tied 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Brittany Muthard (Northampton, Pa./Northampton) started the rally with a leadoff double to spark the Lady Eagles.

Kirsten Labant (Upper Black Eddy, Pa./Palisades) pitch ran for Muthard and eventually reached home on a passed ball to take the lead in the sixth.

Brittany Pataky (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield) and Brittany Favazza (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) both had RBI singles to secure the lead in the sixth inning.

The Lady Eagles have the day off tomorrow and are back in action on Thursday, March 10 against Mercy College at 1:30 p.m. and Limestone College at 3:30 p.m.
