INDIANA, Pa. – The Lock Haven University softball team (23-10, 9-5 PSAC Central) split a PSAC Central doubleheader today at No. 24 Indiana (Pa.) University (25-9, 10-6 PSAC Central).

In game one, IUP won 8-0 in five innings, before LHU rebounded nicely and won 5-4.

Sarah Morse (Dover, N.H./Dover) battled all five innings and recorded three strikeouts in the game-one loss to IUP.

The Lady Eagles had three hits.

Lock Haven responded in a big way in game two and earned the thrilling 5-4 after the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh and final inning.

Alicia Cacciotti (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) singled to center field in the top of the seventh to drive in the eventual game-winner.

Brittany Favazza (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) was 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Brittany Pataky (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield) was 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Nicole Smith (Milton, Pa./Milton) got the win after a complete-game effort. She only gave up one earned run on the way to her 12th win of the year.

The Lady Eagles doubleheader with Shippensburg scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday, April 16) has been canceled. LHU will travel to Mansfield on Sunday (1 p.m.).
