ERIE, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (16-17, 6-10 PSAC West) dropped both games of a PSAC West doubleheader today at Mercyhurst College (26-9, 11-6 PSAC West).

The Bald Eagles dropped the first game 1-0 and were edged 2-1 in a 10-inning game two.

Tyler Golden (Tyrone, Pa./Tyrone) got the start on the mound in game one. Golden had a great day for The Haven, pitching a solid six innings. He struck out four batters.

He gave up one earned run on eight hits.

Mercyhurst's right fielder, Shane Latshaw hit a home run in the second inning that proved to be the difference in the game.

Nick Gillung threw a good game for the Lakers. He had 10 strikeouts.

Lock Haven had three hits from three different players.

Scott Zuback (Mill Hall, Pa,/Central Mountian) went 1-for-2 .

Game two went 10 innings, as the Bald Eagles fell 2-1 in heart breaking fashion.

Tyler Rumsey (Mansfield, Pa/Mansfield) pitched an incredible game for Lock Haven and he went nine innings but recorded the no decision.

Rumsey struck out eight batters and only gave up five hits in the nine innings of work.

Brian Kochik (Snow Shoe, Pa/Bald Eagle) went 3-for-4 with three singles for Lock Haven.

Cody Young (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte) went 2-for-5 as he continues to hit the ball well for the Bald Eagles.

Corey Fassett (Tunkhannock, Pa./Lackawanna) got the only RBI for Lock Haven. He went 1-for-3.

The Bald Eagles are back in action Friday, April 22 as they host Slippery Rock University at Foundation Field. The first game starts at 1 p.m.
