ERIE, Pa. - The Lock Haven University baseball team (13-12, 4-6 PSAC West) dropped two games today against Gannon University (11-13, 6-4 PSAC West).
The Bald Eagles lost the first game 6-3, and dropped the second game 10-9 in a thrilling contest that came down the wire.
In game one Lock Haven got three runs on six hits.
Getting the start on the mound in the first game for the Bald Eagles was
Brandon Renoll (Hanover, Pa./Hanover). Renoll went 3.1 innings, while giving up six runs on nine hits. He sat down two batters.
Picking up some innings in relief was Cory Hepfer (Springfield, Pa./Penn State Brandywine) and
Stephen Brush (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough).
Hepfer threw 1.2 innings, striking out two batters.
Brush pitched the last inning and only gave up one hit and no runs.
Having a good game at the plate was
Cory Dorman (Mifflinburg, Pa./Allegany College of Maryland) and
Corey Fassett (Tunkhannock, Pa/Lackawanna College), who both went 1-for-2, with a walk.
Cody Young (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte) went 1-for-3 with one walk and he scored two runs.
Three other Bald Eagles posted one hit.
In game two, Lock Haven jumped out to an early lead scoring four runs in the first two innings.
The Bald Eagles could not hold on to the lead, giving up eight runs in the last two innings in true heart breaking fashion.
Despite, the loss in game two, LHU hit the ball well as every player in the lineup posted at least one hit.
Picking up where they left off in the first game at the plate was Young and Fassett.
Young went 3-for-5 with one RBI and he scored one run.
Fassett went 2-for-4 with a RBI.
Continuing his great rookie season was local-freshman
Scott Zuback (Mill Hall, Pa/Central Mountian). Zuback went 2-for-4 with a RBI.
Josh Jones (Neelyton, Pa./Southern-Huntingdon) the starting third-baseman for Lock Haven went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Kevin Cressman (Huntingdon, Pa./Mansfield University) also went 2-for-4 with a RBI and two runs scored.

Brian Kochik (Snow Shoe, Pa./Bald Eagle), who was celebrating his birthday today had a great game two. Kockik went 2-for-4 with a two-run homerun in the top of the seventh.
Kockik had three RBIs.
Getting the nod on the mound in game two was
Jordan Yohn (Three Springs, Pa./Southern Huntingdon), who went 5.2 innings. He struck out four and gave up one earned run on seven hits.
Lock Haven hits the diamond again tomorrow (Sunday, April 3) at 1 p.m. when the Bald Eagles host this same Gannon University team at 1 p.m.
