LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University softball team (19-8, 4-3 PSAC Central) split today's PSAC Central doubleheader with No. 9 IUP (22-3, 5-1 PSAC Central).

Lock Haven lost game one, 5-0 before earning an impressive 2-1 win in game two.

IUP pitcher Erin Holloway threw a complete-game, one-hitter in game one of the twin bill to lead the Crimson Hawks. She recorded six strikeouts.

Brittany Favazza (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) went 1-for-3, with the only hit for the Lady Eagles in game one.

Sarah Morse (Dover, N.H./Dover) was sensational as well in the pitcher's circle despite the loss.

Morse threw a solid complete-game with six strikeouts of her own.

The Lady Eagles responded in game two in a big way, earning the impressive 2-1 win.

It marked just the third loss of the year for an IUP team that's been playing fantastic softball.

Bridgette Clarke (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia), Alicia Cacciotti (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads), and Favazza all went 1-for-3 to help take the second game of the doubleheader.

Favazza and Clarke scored the two runs in the win over No. 9 IUP.

Nicole Smith (Milton, Pa./Milton) pitched a complete-game gem for the Lady Eagles.

She recorded seven strikeouts to improve to 10-3 on the year.

Heading into the bottom of the sixth inning the game was tied 1-1, when Cacciotti recorded a RBI-double that drove in Kristen Labant (Upper Black Eddy, Pa./Palisades).

Cacciotti's clutch hitting proved to the difference and her RBI-double proved to be the eventual game-winning hit.

The Lady Eagles return to action Tuesday, April 5 at 2:30 p.m. when they host California (Pa.) University.
